![]() It was brilliant right up until death - handled well throughout, never bled air and survived getting whacked by a big sting ray. I had written a Twist 2 review on 02-19-2013. In summary, this is a reasonably priced and overall nice recreational kayak, but if you have a problem with it, it is quite possible that your experience with the company, which is based in the Czech Republic, will be unpleasant. I asked to ship back the kayak for their examination, but they refused, in a pretty rude manner. What is worse, when asked for the warranty repair, the company refused to honor the warranty, claiming that I cut the fabric, and that such a problem is not possible. I figure the fabric Innova uses is not rip-stop. The nitrilon fabric attaching one of the carrying straps tore off along the thread on the first use, when I lifted the kayak with some load in it. Because of the slim side tubes and no self-bailing drains, it is suitable only for calm water. The slim side tubes also make it easier to paddle, although the seats are very low. The built-in i-beam floor is much more convenient than the separate floor on my older-design Sea Eagle Explorer kayak, and helps make this kayak faster and track a bit better. The size is good for an adult and a child, a bit cramped for two adults. The kayak is light and minimalist, with a bare minimum of plastic d-rings for anchoring the seats and other stuff, which makes it feel a bit cheap. This is the review for the LN version (2016-2018), which was replaced in 2019 with a slightly updated design and heavier-duty nitrilon fabric.
